Looking Forward: We’re Off and Running in the 21st Century

The Palos Verdes Peninsula branch has been actively involved in our community since its founding in 1957.  We started the first recycling center in our area and were centrally involved in the first program addressing domestic violence.  We have a strong track record of working with schools, from elementary through college level.  Recently, members have led the formation of the The Palos Verdes Peninsula Village, a grass roots organization that allows seniors to “age in Place” in their homes and communities.

In our service projects, as the AAUW mission states, we advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.  Often we join in our efforts with other organizations in our community who share our commitment.

All the while this is going on, we enjoy being together!  Our members are enriched by the friendships and fun provided by our many interest groups and by voluntary participation in our outreach projects.  You may find your own place in the branch.

If you’re not already a member, we hope you’ll join us.
